Korea Festivals & Events in November 2026

Korea Festivals & Events in November 2026

November festivals can give you a reason to explore a different part of Korea—or spend an evening somewhere you already planned to visit. You might choose fireworks by the sea in Busan, chrysanthemum displays in Masan, or an evening activity on Namsan in Seoul.

This guide covers selected festivals and events taking place in Korea in November 2026, with local context and practical details to help you decide what fits your trip.

Some are easy additions to a day of sightseeing. Others need advance tickets, an overnight stay, or a plan for getting back after an evening performance. Choose the experiences that interest you most, then check the full journey before committing.

Dates, programs, and ticket availability can change. Use the official links in each section to check the latest information before booking or traveling.

🥾 Jeju Olle Walking Festival (제주올레걷기축제)

When: November 5–7, 2026
Where: Sections of Jeju Olle Routes 19 and 20, northeastern Jeju Island
Planning level: Consider it if you’ll already be visiting Jeju and enjoy a substantial outdoor walk.

The Jeju Olle Walking Festival brings performances and activities to the island’s walking trails. Rather than gathering at one festival ground, visitors follow a different route each day, making the walk itself part of the experience.

Choose Your Walking Day

The announced starting points are:

  • November 5: Jocheon Manse Dongsan (조천만세동산), following Route 19 forward.
  • November 6: Dongbok-ri Sports Center (동복리 운동장), following sections of Routes 19 and 20 forward.
  • November 7: Jeju Haenyeo Museum (제주해녀박물관), following Route 20 in reverse.

Check the daily route map and distance before choosing your day. Starting and finishing points differ, so plan transportation for both ends.

Check Participation and Transportation

Advance registration has closed. The organizer states that festival entertainment is open to everyone, including unregistered visitors. Limited on-site registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis at ₩35,000 for the regular registration fee, payable in cash, subject to souvenir availability.

The published shuttle-booking period has also ended. Tickets aren’t sold on-site, so check directly with the organizer about remaining options before relying on a shuttle.

Luggage storage is not available at the venue or on shuttle buses. Leave your suitcase at your accommodation, bring water and rain protection, and wear shoes suitable for the trail.

🎆 Busan Fireworks Festival (부산불꽃축제)

When: Saturday, November 7, 2026
Main fireworks: Scheduled for 7–8 p.m.; earlier activities begin during the afternoon. Check the official timetable for changes.
Where: Gwangalli Beach, with additional viewing areas around Igidae and Dongbaekseom
Planning level: Plan your Busan stay and evening transportation around it.

Gwangalli’s waterfront gives this festival its setting: fireworks above the sea, with Gwangan Bridge stretching across the view. If you’re already considering a fall visit to Busan, this is an event worth checking before choosing your travel dates.

The organizer offers reserved seating through its official ticket links. Check the seating map, availability, and entry deadline before purchasing. Viewing angles differ around the coastline, so an alternative location may not offer the same view as the main beach.

Plan for Crowds Beyond the Beach

Even if you aren’t attending, consider how the event might affect dinner reservations or travel through the Gwangalli area. I would leave a generous buffer before any onward train or flight rather than relying on a quick departure after the show.

🚇 Plan your journey and return

On November 7, 2026, road closures around the festival area begin at 10 a.m. and expand during the afternoon. Gwangan Bridge’s upper deck closes from 3:30 p.m. to midnight, and its lower deck from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. These restrictions can affect journeys elsewhere in Busan, even if you aren’t attending the fireworks.

Use the subway where practical, allow extra time for walking and crowded stations, and plan your return before arriving. Bus routes may be diverted as closures expand.

Make a Day of the Neighborhood

Spend some time around Gwangalli earlier in the day and have a meal before settling into your evening plans. Once you know your viewing location and entry requirements, you can decide how much exploring comfortably fits beforehand.

✨ Buyeo Nakhwa Nori (부여 낙화놀이)

Scheduled date: November 7, 2026
Where: Baekje Cultural Land (백제문화단지), Buyeo County, Chungcheongnam-do (South Chungcheong Province)
Booking status: The organizer’s October 13 notice announced that tickets had sold out, with cancellation tickets potentially becoming available. Current availability has not been reconfirmed.
Planning level: Secure a valid event ticket before arranging a trip around it.

낙화놀이 (nakhwa nori) creates a shower of falling sparks from burning bundles suspended overhead. Its drifting light gives the evening a different atmosphere from fireworks launched high into the sky.

A Baekje-Inspired Setting

Baekje Cultural Land recreates royal and everyday settings associated with the ancient Baekje kingdom. The architecture provides the backdrop for this event; the venue’s historical theme does not mean the performance itself dates from the Baekje period.

Check Tickets Before Making Plans

Check the organizer’s latest notice for cancellation-ticket procedures and availability. A date remaining on the calendar does not mean tickets are still available.

Confirm that your ticket specifically covers the 낙화놀이 event. Check its admission time, viewing location, and weather policy, and arrange your return transportation before setting out.

🌙 Nowon Moonlight Walk (노원달빛산책) — Seoul

When: October 16–November 8, 2026; lights on daily from 5:30–10 p.m.
Where: Danghyeoncheon, Nowon-gu, between Danghyeon 1 Bridge and Yangji Bridge
Admission: Free
Getting there: Use Junggye Station (중계역), Line 7, as your starting point, then follow the festival’s official directions to the stream.

An evening stroll along Danghyeoncheon becomes an outdoor art exhibition during Nowon Moonlight Walk. More than 30 illuminated artworks line a 1.3 km stretch of the stream, giving you a reason to explore beyond central Seoul after dark. This year’s theme, “New Moon, New Wishes,” brings together works exploring life, peace and coexistence.

You can follow the stream at your own pace—there’s no need to book a ticket for the main exhibition.

💡 Tip: Arrive after the lights come on to enjoy the illuminated artworks and their reflections on the water.

🍜 Gumi Ramyun Festival (구미라면축제)

When: November 6–8, 2026
Where: Around Gumi Station (구미역), Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province)
Ramyun restaurant hours: November 6, 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; November 7, 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; November 8, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Planning level: A food-focused outing to consider if Gumi fits your itinerary.

Korean instant noodles take center stage at Gumi’s ramyun festival. The announced lineup includes unusual ramyun dishes, toppings, international noodles, and a soup-combination and self-cooking area.

Browse the menus before deciding what to try, and leave time for queues rather than treating the festival as a quick meal between trains. Performances follow their own timetable, separate from the food-service hours listed above.

Ordering Your Food

The organizer lists QR-code ordering, with kiosks available for visitors who have difficulty using it, including foreign visitors. Cash payments can be handled at the control booth.

Check the festival map, ordering instructions, and transportation notices before visiting. Use Gumi Station (구미역) when planning your arrival, then confirm the walk to your chosen festival area.

🥬 Goesan Gimjang Festival (괴산김장축제) — Chungcheongbuk-do

When: November 5–8, 2026, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Where: Goesan Organic Expo Square and Goesan Sports Complex, Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do
Admission: Free; food and some activities cost extra
Kimchi-making: Advance reservations through the official website; the standard 10 kg cabbage package with seasoning costs ₩76,000. Availability is limited.

Gimjang (김장) is the seasonal tradition of making kimchi to share and keep through winter. In Goesan, locally grown cabbage and chili peppers bring that tradition to the festival table, with kimchi-making programs, food stalls and cultural activities.

You can explore the festival without booking a kimchi-making session. If you want to make your own, check reservations first: the main programs involve substantial take-home batches, starting with 10 kg of salted cabbage plus seasoning, rather than a small cooking-class portion.

⚠️ Taking kimchi home: Before reserving a large batch, consider your remaining travel days, storage and baggage allowance. Incheon treats kimchi as a liquid-containing food, so containers larger than 100 mL must go in checked luggage. Use leak-resistant packaging with a second sealed outer bag, and check your airline’s requirements. Destination food-import rules also apply. Travelers entering the United States must declare their kimchi to CBP; agricultural inspectors determine whether it can enter, including when packed in checked baggage.

🌼 Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival (마산가고파국화축제)

When: October 31–November 8, 2026
Where: Masan, Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do (South Gyeongsang Province)—around 3·15 Marine Nuri Park, Happo Waterfront Park, and the Marine New City area
Admission: Free; individual purchases and activities may cost extra
Planning level: Consider it if Changwon or Masan fits your southern Korea route.

Chrysanthemums and the waterfront come together at this festival in Masan, now part of Changwon. Displays spread across several coastal locations, giving you a reason to explore the area as well as see the flowers.

Why Chrysanthemums in Masan?

The flowers have a local history beyond their autumn appearance. Masan’s commercial chrysanthemum cultivation began with six farming households in 1961, and the area began exporting chrysanthemums to Japan in 1972.

The festival grew from that industry, showcasing the growers’ skills through shaped plants and elaborate floral displays. Knowing that background makes it more than simply another place to photograph fall flowers.

Planning Your Visit

Check the festival map before choosing your arrival point—the displays occupy several areas. Performances and special evening programs have their own schedules, so check the daily program if there’s something you particularly want to see.

Allow time for a waterfront walk and a meal in Masan rather than trying to squeeze all the venues into a quick stop between cities.

🔎 Official festival listing — Korea Tourism Organization (English)

🌼 Hampyeong Chrysanthemum Festival (대한민국 국향대전)

When: October 23–November 8, 2026
Where: Hampyeong Expo Park (함평엑스포공원), Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do (South Jeolla Province)
Planning level: Consider it if you’re already exploring southwestern Korea and enjoy flower displays.

First held in 2004 as part of Hampyeong’s effort to develop year-round tourism, the festival combines large chrysanthemum installations and displays with local produce and cultural programs.

Hampyeong’s autumn festival fills Expo Park with large chrysanthemum sculptures, shaped plants, and bonsai displays. The 2026 theme, “A Mythical Chrysanthemum Garden,” gives the floral installations a storybook direction.

This is an option for travelers who would enjoy spending time looking closely at the plants and arrangements. The announced program also includes cultural performances and hands-on activities.

Choose the Flower Festival That Fits Your Route

You don’t need to visit both chrysanthemum festivals in this guide. Masan offers a waterfront setting, while Hampyeong centers on Expo Park. Choose whichever fits your route and interests.

For Hampyeong, check the current admission prices, daily program, and transportation between your arrival station or bus terminal and Expo Park. Include that final connection when deciding whether the outing fits your day.

🍂 Namsan Night Festival (남산 나이트 페스티벌)

November 6–7: Baekbeom Square and Namsan Yejang Park
November 14: Palgak Club
Reservations: Booking arrangements vary by program; the foliage walk also accepts on-site registration. Attendance deposits apply.

Namsan Night Festival offers a few different ways to spend an autumn evening on the mountain: a picnic with music and movies, a nighttime foliage walk, or a silent DJ party overlooking Seoul.

Choose the program that interests you before making plans. The activities take place on different dates and at different locations around Namsan.

Choose Your Evening on Namsan

  • Namsan Campnic: November 6–7 at Baekbeom Square. The program includes music and outdoor cinema.
  • Autumn Foliage Walk: November 6–7, with Namsan Yejang Park as the listed venue.
  • Palgak Club: November 14 at Palgakjeong Pavilion near N Seoul Tower. This silent DJ event has two sessions: 5:30–7 p.m. and 7:30–9 p.m.

Check Reservations and the Meeting Location

Campnic requires a ₩10,000 deposit per team. The foliage walk and Palgak Club each require ₩5,000 per person. The organizer states that deposits are refunded after attendance; check the booking instructions for the conditions.

Reservations for Palgak Club open on November 2 at 10 a.m. Korean time. The organizer announced on October 14 that Campnic was fully booked, with canceled spaces released through Naver Reservation as they become available. For the foliage walk, check advance availability or the organizer’s on-site registration instructions.

Save the exact meeting location rather than navigating simply to “Namsan.” Bring a warm layer for the evening and wear shoes suitable for walking.

🏺 Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival (김해분청도자기축제)

When: November 6–10, 2026
Where: Lotte Garden Park (롯데가든파크), beside Lotte Outlets Gimhae, Jangyu, Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do (South Gyeongsang Province)
Planning level: Consider it for a southern Korea itinerary, particularly if you enjoy pottery and traditional crafts.

Gimhae’s ceramics festival introduces visitors to 분청사기 (buncheong sagi), pottery distinguished by its white-clay coating and varied decorative techniques.

The festival highlights the work of Gimhae’s pottery community, including pieces that preserve traditional methods and others that explore newer forms of expression. It offers a craft-focused outing alongside the flower displays and evening events elsewhere in this guide.

Check the New Venue

The 2026 festival takes place at Lotte Garden Park in Jangyu, rather than its previous location in Jillye-myeon. Older directions may lead to the pottery museum area instead.

Use the current festival venue when planning transportation. Before arranging your day around a workshop or demonstration, check that its listing explicitly applies to the November 2026 event. Some program pages still display older schedules.

☕ Seoul Café Show (서울카페쇼)

Public visiting dates: November 13–14, 2026
Hours: November 13, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; November 14, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing.
Where: COEX, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Admission: Paid; check the official website for ticket options

If Korean café culture is part of what draws you to Korea, Seoul Café Show offers a different way to explore it. This indoor exhibition brings together coffee, tea, bakery products, desserts, café equipment, and other parts of the food-and-drink industry.

It’s particularly worth considering if you enjoy browsing coffee brands and learning about what goes into running a café. Check the exhibitor list and program first to see whether it matches your interests.

Choose a Public Day

The full exhibition runs November 11–14, but November 11–12 are business days for buyers, industry professionals, and prospective business owners. General visitors should plan for Friday, November 13, or Saturday, November 14.

Check the opening hours for your chosen day, ticket conditions, and any separate registration requirements for special programs before buying.

As an indoor event, this could also provide a change of pace between outdoor autumn activities.

🍋 Goheung Yuja Festival (고흥유자축제)

When: November 12–15, 2026
Where: Yuja festival grounds around 701-7 Handong-ri, Pungyang-myeon, Goheung County, South Jeolla region
Korean map address: 고흥군 풍양면 한동리 701-7
Planning level: Consider it as part of a southwestern Korea itinerary, after checking transportation to the rural venue.

Goheung’s yuja festival puts a locally grown citrus fruit at the center of the outing. 유자 (yuja)—also known as yuzu—is used in drinks and other products, and the festival offers a chance to explore the orchards behind it.

Spend Time Among the Yuja Trees

The announced program includes orchard walks, photo areas, performances, and a stamp tour connecting activities across the grounds. The orchard viewpoint offers another perspective on the setting, with daytime scenery and festival lights after dark.

Check individual activity arrangements before visiting. A program appearing on the schedule doesn’t necessarily mean it runs continuously or requires no advance registration.

Check the Final Connection

Use the festival’s exact map location and check its published shuttle information alongside your journey into Goheung.

If you plan to stay for evening activities, arrange your return first. Allow time to enjoy the orchards and food rather than treating this as a quick stop between cities.

When: November 19–21, 2026

Where: Yeongildae Beach (영일대해수욕장) and the Songdo–Pohang Old Port area, Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province)
Admission: Listed as free; check separate arrangements for individual programs
Planning level: Plan your accommodation and evening transportation before building a trip around the main show.

Pohang’s fireworks festival has a connection to the city’s industrial identity. The organizer describes its theme of fire and light as reflecting the furnaces and energy of this major steelmaking city.

The festival began with a fireworks show celebrating Pohang Citizens’ Day in 2004 and later expanded into an international event.

Choose the Program and Venue First

The festival runs for three days, but the international fireworks show is scheduled for November 21. The overall date range doesn’t mean the main display takes place every evening.

Activities span Yeongildae Beach and the Songdo–Old Port area. Check the program map and exact viewing location before choosing your accommodation or arrival point.

Allow extra time for crowds and the journey back afterward. Confirm the latest performance schedule, weather notices, and transportation arrangements before setting out.

The route takes approximately 90 minutes, with city views along the way. It’s a chance to make the walk itself part of your Seoul evening, rather than heading straight to the summit.

Tteokbokki (떡볶이) gets a fitting festival setting in Sunchang, a town known for gochujang (고추장) and traditional fermentation. Held across the Fermentation Theme Park and Traditional Gochujang Folk Village, the event connects a familiar Korean street food with the local ingredients and traditions behind its sauce.

Browse stalls serving different takes on tteokbokki, watch cooking demonstrations and performances, or reserve a hands-on activity. The setting gives you a reason to explore Sunchang’s food heritage alongside your festival meal.

💡 Tip: Different sauces can mean different ingredients as well as spice levels. Ask about seafood, meat or dairy if you have dietary restrictions.

🫘 Paju Jangdan Soybean Festival (파주장단콩축제)

When: November 27–29, 2026
Where: Imjingak Square (임진각 광장), Paju, Gyeonggi-do (Gyeonggi Province), north of Seoul
Planning level: A food-focused outing to consider from Seoul, after checking the full journey to Imjingak.

This festival puts a local agricultural specialty at the center of a Paju visit: 장단콩 (Jangdan soybeans).

For travelers interested in everyday Korean food, a festival devoted to beans offers a different perspective from restaurant hopping. Soybeans are the starting point for familiar foods such as tofu, doenjang, and soy sauce, making this a chance to explore an ingredient behind many meals.

Check the Program Before Planning Your Day

Use the current festival program to see which food stalls, demonstrations, and activities interest you. Some experiences may have separate participation times or fees.

The venue is Imjingak Square, so use that destination when checking transportation rather than searching only for Paju. Include the final connection and return journey when deciding how much time to allow.

If you plan to buy beans or other agricultural products to take home, check your destination country’s customs rules before purchasing.

💡 Haeundae Light Festival (해운대 빛축제)

Scheduled dates: November 28, 2026–January 10, 2027
Where: Haeundae Beach (해운대해수욕장), Gunam-ro (구남로), and surrounding areas, Busan
Planning level: An evening outing to consider during a late-November or winter stay in Busan.

The 13th Haeundae Light Festival adds a seasonal outing to a stay in the Haeundae area. Its run extends into January, giving travelers a wider window than a single-night event.

Consider combining it with dinner and time exploring the neighborhood. Check the final installation map and lighting hours before visiting, and bring a warm layer for time beside the sea.

Haeundae District’s official calendar lists these dates but notes that schedules may change. Individual performances or special programs may have separate arrangements.

🔎 Official 2026 Haeundae event calendar (Korean)

💡 Seokchon Lake Luminarie (석촌호수 루미나리에)

When: October 30, 2026–February 28, 2027
Where: Seokchon Lake’s East and West Lakes, Songpa-gu, Seoul

Seokchon Lake’s autumn-to-winter festival adds illuminated installations to a lakeside walk. The 2026–27 theme is “Promise, Love & Destiny.”

Its longer season makes this an easier event to work into your itinerary. You can choose an evening that suits your plans rather than arranging your trip around a single performance date.

Make It Part of an Evening in Jamsil

Consider combining the lake with dinner or shopping in Jamsil, then heading outside to enjoy the lights. You can walk part of the lakeside route and leave time to stop along the way.

Check the latest lighting hours and event notices before visiting. The festival dates cover the overall season; individual performances and special activities may follow a separate schedule.

Bring a warm layer for the lakeside, especially if your visit falls in November or later.

🗺️ Choosing a Festival That Fits Your Trip

Start with where you’ll already be traveling. A festival can add something memorable to a visit, but it doesn’t need to send you across the country unless it’s an experience you especially want to see.

If you’re staying in Seoul, start with the events that overlap your dates. A Namsan activity or a walk around Seokchon Lake can fit into a city itinerary without an intercity journey. Seoul Café Show and Seoul Design Festival offer indoor options, while Paju’s soybean festival is an outing to consider after checking transportation to Imjingak.

For foliage walks, palace grounds, and other outings between events, see my Seoul in fall guide.

For a southern itinerary, compare the events in Busan, Gimhae, Masan, and Pohang against your travel dates. Yeosu, Hampyeong, and Goheung may fit a southwestern route, while Gumi offers a food-focused stop elsewhere on your journey. Jeju’s walking festival makes sense as part of an island stay. Check the full journey to each venue, and confirm ticket availability before planning around Buyeo’s evening performance.

Check the complete journey before combining events, including the connection from a train station or bus terminal to the actual venue. One flower festival that fits your route may be plenty.

Plan the Journey Home First

For evening events, check your return options before booking the outward journey. The last suitable train or bus may leave too early, and getting out of a crowded festival area can take longer than expected.

An overnight stay may make more sense than rushing away immediately afterward.

Check What Your Ticket Covers

General admission, reserved seating, hands-on activities, and special evening performances may have different booking arrangements.

Read the current event notice carefully, especially when an attraction also sells ordinary daytime or nighttime admission. Save your confirmation and any entry instructions somewhere easy to find.

Prepare for Time Outdoors

Check the forecast for the event location and bring layers for the evening. Comfortable shoes are useful even at a seated event, since the journey from transportation stops to your viewing area may involve a fair amount of walking.

Before leaving your accommodation, check for weather-related changes, transport notices, and any restrictions on bags, food, or seating equipment.

Make the Festival Part of the Trip

Choose an event that interests you, then leave time to enjoy the place hosting it. Learning why Masan grows chrysanthemums or spending time around Gwangalli before the fireworks can make the visit more memorable than simply arriving for the main program and leaving afterward.

Before making firm plans, check the latest schedule, ticket availability, and journey back. With those details settled, you can spend more of your visit enjoying the food, scenery, and atmosphere.
